Paradise called Santorini

Un Paraíso llamado…

 

Less than 45 minutes and we were enjoying the sunny, refreshing and classy Santorini a place to walk around and discover, when thinking on Santorini the first thing that comes to our mind is the white and blue of the houses, the caldera where watching every day the most breathtaking sunset ever seen.

For our adventure we chose to stay in the new addition of  Canaves Hotels, Oia Epitome, with just 1 month old is becoming as the other hotels of the group a well known and very delightful place to stay where to enjoy the marvelous weather and view to the bays!

This family owner hotel started years ago, step by step making their hotels  a reference place of sophistication, modernity and the best trained staff.

We had a blast trip and how the drivers: Cristo, George and Sergio took such a good care of us when in there.

The restaurant manager organized for us the most amazing romantic and unique gastronomical dinner you can imagine, a tasting menu with more than 15 courses marinated with the most unbelievable wines. 

Details my beautiful people make the big difference, and is impressive how the owners visit everyday their hotels in order to make sure everybody is happy and receiving the best treat, as Sergio said to us on the way to the airport: when you are on vacation we have to take care of you and making your days unforgettable!

For sure we became fans of Canaves Oia family!

If planing to visit Santorini here some things you shouldn’t miss:

1. Day boat trip around the volcanos, with barbecue and beverages, I suggest the semi private, no more than 20 people, it is a little pricey but worthy.
2. Dinner in Armeni Tavern , located in Armeni Bay, trust me you will enjoy the most simple, fresh and infancy place, you will have the impression you were fishing, sea to the table!
3. Highly recommend to have dinner in the restaurant in Canaves Oia Epitome, open your sense to a new experience.
4. Go all the way south to the island to Sea Gate beach club, the best cabanas and beach view! Try their sushi.
5. If looking for a night life noisy place, but very good food go to Uvac at Cavo Tagoo Hotel Santorini, located in Imerovigli.
6. Visit Thira, Oia, Imerovigli, walk and discover how beautiful Santorini is.

Después de unos días maravillosos en Atenas y tras 45 minutos de vuelo aterrizamos en la isla! Santorini aquí estamos para dejarnos embriagar por tu puesta del sol y tus menos de 40 kms de isla.

Me sorprendió cuando hablando con un taxista nos comentó que solo hay 25 taxies para toda la isla, razón por la que cada verano llegan empresas de shuttle privados de toda Grecia a prestar servicios a los turistas, creerme, lo último que querréis es ir a Santorini y alquilar un coche, será un gran dolor de cabeza y misión imposible conducir y aparcar entre las 7.30 pm hasta las 9.00 pm cuando toda la isla corre a la zona norte Oia (Ia) a ver la puesta de sol más impresionantes que mis ojos hayan visto.

Nosotros nos alojamos en el Hotel Canaves Oia Epitome, considerado uno de los mejores de la isla, doy fe que tuvimos el mejor servicio y las mejores atenciones, y los mejores conductores, las risas que me eché con Sergio el Chileno, no tienen precio, y mejor no os cuento de la espectacular cena que tuvimos en el restaurante del hotel, 15 platos con el sabor de la cocina tradicional griega, pero con la mas selecta y creativa presentación, os juro que si tuviera potestad para dar estrellas Michelin, a este restaurante le daría más de 2 😊.

Vais a Santorini? Aquí mis recomendaciones:

1. Excursión semi privada por los Volcanes de Santorini, una experiencia única, con otras 16 personas en un hermoso catamaran, el precio incluye bebidas ilimitadas y barbacoa.
2. Ir a cenar o comer a Armeni Tavern en la Bahía Armeni, tendréis que tomar un bote taxi en Ammoudi, dejando detrás las vistas mas lindas de la isla.
3. Reitero la experiencia que tuvimos en el restaurante del hotel.
4. Ir al beach club Sea Gate, con hamacas en plena playa, champagne, sushi y fruta fresca, me entran ganas de volver.
5. Quereis un lugar con unas súper vistas, aunque algo ruidoso? Sin dudas Uvac en el hotel Cavo Tagoo en Imerovigli.
6. Caminar por las distintas zonas de la isla, cada rincón es único e idóneo para el mejor de los photoshoots.
