Last Stop in Greece

Última Parada Griega

The 3rd stop in Greece of our European expedition was in a completely different escenario, from the city, to the Island, now the beautiful mountains of the Peloponnese, surrounded by very unique areas and islands.

Years ago we discovered the luxurious hotels Aman, and since then we became Aman fans, is the most exclusive and unique experience you can enjoy, the arrival makes you think how your stay in is going to be.

On the way to our last destination on this Greek bound, due the almost three hours drive from Athens the kind driver offered us to stop in a very important canal, The Corinth Canal, that separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, as an anecdote, let me tell you guys my husband is terribly scared to heights, when he saw how deep the canal was between the two mountains, he was holding my hand screaming and almost fainting, and the wind was so wild, as a result my favorite Panama hat flew by the canal, imagine my fase, it was a good bye to my partner in crime of so many trips and memories, but the good news: my husband stop screaming and felt better after passing through the little bridge.

One particular feature of Aman is the location, they would never set a hotel in the middle of the crowds, in fact Aman means Peace, the place is peace on earth, is the place to go when needing to think and recharge your batteries.

Is not a easy location to go by yourself is better to secure a car service upon arrival or helicopter and some people arrive on boats transfer places.

Amanzoe is closed to Porto Heli (Porto Cheli in Greek) and just miles away of two beautiful islands: Spetses and Hydra, for any of them a transportation has to take you there and then taking a water taxi to them.

Due weather conditions we just had time to go to Spetses, and everybody agreed after visiting this magical Island is more than enough if not having time, the differences with Hydra are: this last is more aristocratic and cars are not allowed, while in Spetses you find both: horses cars and cars arriving in the ferries.

Walk around the islands and don’t miss the experience to have dinner in one of the little restaurants or taverns, and enjoy the beautiful fishing boats! we walk all around the island: from the new pair to the old port, had a tea at Poseidonion and dinner in one of the best restaurant of the island: Tarsanas Fish Tavern.

If looking to relax and disappear for a while Amanzoe is you place to go.
